I grew up near the train station in Yaroslavl, Russia. This is where I began my “school of life”. From my childhood I was an adventurer. I was a gambler (played cards) for large sums. Quite honestly, I was a bandit. This was not just in Russia and Israel but also all over Europe. 5 times I served time in prisons in Russia, Germany and Switzerland. At the age of 24 I began using hard drugs such as heroin and crack cocaine. About 2 years ago, after having been released from prison in Germany the emptiness of my life began to make a strong, negative impact upon how I felt about myself. I had no goals. A terrible loneliness overtook me. I screamed to the heaven: “Is there anybody there? My soul is dying!”. 3 months later I arrived in Israel. On my 33th birthday I met Volodia, the pastor of our rehab center. When I came to the rehab center I met God, and was delivered from drugs and sin. I, thankfully, became a member of a large family of believers in God and His son, my Savior Jesus Christ. Now i have a goal in my life — to serve God.
