Testimoniesfrom "Living Israel" rehabilitation center |

Upon the completion of my rehabilitation I decided to commence studying at the school for Christs’ disciples, which is also located at the monastery. It was very interesting and comfortable for me to study at this school. Kind, good and supportive people were always nearby. I came to believe that God really does exist, that He is a living God, and that He actually loves me, cares for and about me. Upon the completion of my discipleship studies I had a much clearer understanding that everything that happens to me is part of Gods’ plan. He taught me to love people, to trust them, as well as how to be free from drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. He taught me to love this life and to help others. I want to say: «Life with God is awesome!». I’m happy to realize that I am His child and that I have God the Father and His Son our Lord Jesus Christ with me at all times. Even if I don’t always hear Him audibly, He hears me, knows me and takes care of me. Hallelujah! I wish everyone to come to God! AMEN. August 2009 |

This is my rehabilitation story. My name is Natalia. At the time of this writing I was 39 years old. I immigrated to Israel 11 years ago, from Ukraine. I’d been a user and abuser? of drugs and alcohol since I was 19. I continued to do so for 20 years. At one time I had a husband, a job and what I thought was a ‘normal’ life.. But for the 2.5 years, which began shortly after my divorce, I started to drink a lot more alcoholic beverages than made any sense. I was tired of everything and everyone. I’d come to feel as if I no longer wanted to live. Then my good friend, Andre, told me of a place where I can rest and recuperate from my abusive lifestyle. After a considerable amount of pondering on this subject, I finally made the decision to go to the rehabilitation monastery in Haifa. During this rehabilitation period my perception of life was genuinely and dramatically changed.
