"Behold, He that keepeth
Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep."
The
most important thing now is not to forget all
the great things that the Lord has done for us in these
difficult times, He did alot of real miracles
for us, He really rescued lives. We need to take
the time to tell about it, and give the glory
to the God of Israel.
During the war about 2 million
Israelies were in a zone of missile fire.
According to the officials, in the Northern
part of Israel alone there were about 4500 missiles
that fell, which is equal to the number of bombs
that fell on Great Britain during WW II. However
there were much more missiles that fell here. They were
really weapons intended especially for the mass destruction
of human life. Each missile was filled by thousands
of little metal balls, able to defeat within
a radius of 500 meters. They could make
holes in concrete and in iron. The missiles destroyed
complete floors in some buildings. In spite
of the fact that 80% of civilians remained
in a zone of missiles fire, the losses
however among them were less than 50 people, and
the majority of them died, because they didnt fulfill
the instructions from the rare office. Just on the
city of Kiryat-Shmone alone, with population less
than 20 thousand people, there had fallen more than
1 thousand missiles. As a result of that, only
one man died during the whole war, which is very unbelievable
if it were not Gods protection, the death toll
could of been thousands from what was counted by “Hezballah”.
During the war, just in our church alone, alot of miracles
happened. Ill write about some of them.
August 10th was my birthday.
Perhaps the most unusual one in my life. From
early morning there was heavy fire. We were asked
to help evacuate several families from Zfat. Guys
from the rehabilitation center went in the van to help
save those people. When they were approaching the city,a
the missile blew up about 10 meters behind them
. Actually they had no chance of escape, and
not one single splinter hit their van. They didnt even
feel the blast wave, it was like God Himself covered
them by His own protection. He is indeed
the Shield of Abraham! Guys picked up the rest
of the blown missile and brought it as a present
for my birthday. Now its in the hall
of my house in a eminent place. It may
be that this is the most precious gift in my life.
The memory of rescued friends.
One missile exploded 50 meters
from my house and some cars on the street just
blew up. Some neigbours houses were riddled with
splinters, but our house was not hit with one single splinter
and nobody in the neigbourhood was wounded. One brother
from our church who works in a plant which continued
to work during the war,a missile blew up not
just in the workshop, but on his working place.
however it happened on a Saturday, the
only day when they dont work.
One young couple was asleep
in their apartment on the third (the top ) floor
and didnt hear the air-raid siren. A missle
hit the first floor in their house. Praise God that
people had time to hide themselves because the first
floor was almost destroyed. But our guys were sleep and
God kept them. They were visited by an ambulance,
and were treated just for the emotional shock they had
experience.
Also amazing was the opening
of the summer camp. Far back as 1-5 years,
we planned to begin it in Latrun,
a monastary close to Jerusalem. According to plan
it was to open, but the very same day the fire
began. That was prepared place to evacuate children
to. The camp was prepared for only 30 people
and they accepted about 80. The camp accepted also
non-believers, who even repented there. God, knowing all
beforehand prepared a place of salvation. From
that day, Gods planning has been perfect.
Lot of things have happened
during that time and impossible to write it in one
letter. The main important thing is to give
glory to Him who «keepeth Israel shall neither
slumber nor sleep». Thanks to Him who saved
our lies and kept us during the Second Lebananes
war! Thank You, our Lord!
Your brother Gleb Samburski.
